We wouldn't let him get his license without driver's ed. That in itself helps keep the insurance cost down. When we put him on one of the questions asked is about the student's grades. He doesn't like to study, but he manages to stay on the honor roll. I just reminded him yesterday that driving is a privilege. The Daughter will be eligible to test for her license in another 2 months. When she got her permit I called our insurance only to find out (to my delight) that we don't have to pay for her coverage until she's driving on her own. I guess I should give them a call on Monday and find out what the damage is going to be. I dread the day we have to pay for coverage for The Son. I've heard boys cost about 3 times what girls do.
