Becky, I have three younger brothers. The youngest is 11 years younger than I. The last Easter basket I remember receiving is when I was 8 years old. I'll have to ask my baby brother if he remembers his last Easter basket.

My oldest is 21 and youngest is 10. I couldn't imagine doing it for one and not the other. As a matter of fact, my 12 year old received a call from a friend on Easter and said she watched her little brother open an Easter basket but she didn't get one because her parents told her she was too old. My daughter couldn't believe it, as her friend sounded very sad. Easter baskets are a tradition, and I think the kids (even the older ones) love tradition. I guess they'll get Easter baskets until they don't celebrate Easter with us...or grandkids come along...

We never got much growing up... and I didn't miss it. We each got one hallow chocolate hen or bunny and a few little eggs and were quite happy with that. Parents go overboard these days, imo. Pretty soon they are going to buy Halloween presents!!

Easter and Christmas are religious holidays - but our American culture has slowly eroded that fact...
It's fun when the kids are small to do the whole presents thing at Christmas -
And at Easter do the overflowing with goodies basket.
I didn't do baskets for my boys this year - but did last year...
I don't know what I will do next year?
I've really been more concerned with getting them a little more back in touch with their Christian roots.
As they've aged (23yrs old & 20 yrs old) they've kind of backed away from that & I worry a bit about them.
This whole parenting thing just never ends... does it?

My kids are 4 and 8 and I love playing Easter Bunny! They were both excited this year and asked all sorts of questions (how does the Bunny get in the house? do the cats chase the Easter Bunny?). They were both happy with their baskets--each got a chocolate bunny, a stuffed toy bunny and a Barbie Kelly doll (saved from 75% off last Easter:-).

My mom stopped doing Easter baskets many, many years ago. I'm 28 and have four younger brothers, the youngest being 15.

We've been doing an Easter egg hunt with $1 bills inside the plastic eggs for a long time now. Even though we're all grown up, we still enjoy running around the house looking for money :)
